About these terms
These terms apply to the reports and subscriptions Clearfield supplies. Clearfield is a UK sole trader business, and you can reach us at hello@getclearfield.co.uk.
Clearfield sells to businesses. Our clients are companies buying intelligence about their own market, and these terms are written on that basis rather than as consumer terms.
What we provide
Clearfield produces competitor intelligence reports. You name the competitors you want watched. We monitor them across public sources, including their websites, the job listings they publish, review-site aggregates, press coverage and the public registers at Companies House, and deliver a written report.
There are two ways to buy. A one-off professional report costs GBP 25, covers up to 5 competitors, and doubles as a taster of the subscription. A subscription costs GBP 50 per month, covers up to 5 competitors, and delivers a monthly report; subscriptions are not open yet.
Your report is produced by AI
This is the most important thing on this page, so it is said plainly rather than buried. Clearfield's reports are produced substantially by AI systems. AI does the reading, the interpretation and most of the writing.
Every report is checked before it is released. Rule-based checks test the figures in the report against the data that was actually collected. A second AI pass looks for claims the collected data does not support. A human reviews the report before it goes out.
Those checks catch a great deal. They do not catch everything. Errors and omissions are possible in any report we send, and we would rather you read our work knowing that than find it out later.
A report is information, not advice
Our reports are information to help you think, and nothing more than that. They are not professional advice, not legal advice and not financial advice, and nothing in a report is a recommendation that you take a particular decision.
Decisions about your business stay yours. If something in a report matters enough to act on, verify it before you act, and take proper professional advice where the decision calls for it.
Figures, sources and gaps
Where a report says where a figure came from, that is traceability, not a guarantee. It tells you which source the figure was taken from. It does not certify that the source was right. Public sources go out of date, contain mistakes and sometimes contradict each other, and a figure traced faithfully to a wrong source is still wrong.
Reports also state their own gaps. Where something could not be collected, or a source was unavailable, or an answer is simply not public, the report says so rather than leaving a silent blank. Those statements are part of the report and are worth reading as carefully as the rest of it.
Paying for a report
Card checkout opens shortly. Until it does, a report is ordered by email and we reply with how to pay. When card checkout does open, one-off report payments will be taken through Stripe's hosted checkout, so card details are entered on Stripe's payment page and never touch this website.
Prices are the total you pay. Clearfield is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added.
The one-off report is delivered by email within 3 working days of payment.
Refunds
One-off reports: if the report is not what you expected, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will refund it in full. You do not have to give a reason.
Subscriptions: you can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next payment. We do not refund part of a month, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Our liability to you
If you have a claim against us arising out of a report or service, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the report or service that the claim relates to. That limit applies to claims; it does not cut across the refunds set out above, which we honour without a claim being made.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. That includes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of them or out of a report, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
